Kalvin Byrd, a Las Vegas native and dedicated community leader with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by this community, Kalvin has channeled his passion and lived experience into creating a supportive network for transgender men.
Through Uncloak, Kalvin has created a safe space where transgender men can find support, build meaningful relationships, and develop the confidence to live authentically. His work is driven by a commitment to addressing the critical needs of his community and a vision of a world where every transgender man feels valued, supported, and connected.
LaDon Henry (He/Him)| Board Member
A proud Black trans man and retired American veteran, LaDon Henry embodies service and leadership. Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, he made history in 2018 as the first openly transgender man to run for an assembly seat, demonstrating his dedication to civic engagement. LaDon is also a devoted family man, cherishing his role as a father and grandfather of nine. Through his leadership at Uncloak, he continues to inspire others with his authenticity and commitment to building community. LaDon values friendship rooted in genuine interactions and approaches life with the philosophy: “Your acceptance is not requested or required.”
Rocco Kayiatos (He/Him)| Board Member
Rocco Kayiatos, a natural conversationalist, builds friendships through curiosity and genuine connection. Based in Los Angeles, Rocco enjoys engaging with people from all walks of life, fostering relationships that resonate with mutual energy and shared values.
Chauntille Roberts (She/Her)| Board Member
A UNLV student pursuing a degree in Urban Affairs with a minor in Public Policy. With nearly nine years of experience in advocacy, community organizing, and legislative work, she has focused on advancing equity and empowering marginalized communities. Chauntille is passionate about addressing systemic issues such as climate justice, reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, racial justice, and workers' rights. Through her leadership and dedication, she has contributed to the development of impactful programs, expanded access to essential services, and driven conversations around policy change at local and national levels. Her work prioritizes community empowerment and sustainable solutions for historically excluded groups.
Ro’Mel Smith (He/Him) | Board Member
Based in Sacramento, California, Ro’Mel Smith is a community advocate with over 20 years of experience supporting marginalized voices. As the Peer Advocate Program Manager at Stanford Sierra Youth and Families, he assists youth and families navigating mental health, child welfare, and juvenile justice systems. Ro’Mel is passionate about empowering the Black trans community and has founded and facilitated numerous support groups, including the global “Brother to Brother” network for Black trans men. Guided by authenticity and lived experience, Ro’Mel believes in showing up consistently to foster meaningful connections.
Dane “Oluwadamilare” Ray (no gendered pronouns) | Board Member
Hailing from the DMV (on unceded Anacostan and Piscataway land), Dane “Oluwadamilare” Ray approaches friendships with authenticity, valuing character and integrity above all else. Dane eschews gendered pronouns and embraces individuality, making connections through shared values and mutual respect.
